New week, new weather, new outfit! After a long hiatus, I’ve decided to share these stylish pieces that are ideal for transitioning into Fall! As a young, female professional, the changing seasons allow for me to play with different types of threads, like this three-quarter sleeved blouse. It’s important to dress appropriately for the weather or more notably for the weather of your work environment. Feeling confident and comfortable grants less probability of a wardrobe malfunction, leaving you with a better chance of productivity in the workplace. Similarly, these Louise et Cie Mary Jane pumps are super playful, yet comfy. I was able to wear these during my commute from the train station to the office, around the office, to a recruiting event, and back home without breaking a sweat.

Urban Jungle

DSCN5529DSCN5555DSCN5535DSCN5536 DSCN5578DSCN5593

It’s almost time for the weekend, Workingals! I wore this outfit yesterday to the client and received several compliments. This Urban Jungle dress is the perfect summer work dress. It’s comfy, yet cute. The length hits at the perfect spot right above the knee and although it’s sleeveless, the straps are wide enough to hide any bra straps from peaking through. Of course, if there are any reservations about the lack of sleeves, I would just pair this with a light, solid cardigan. The fabric is very light and the dress hangs well, which bodes well for the mass amounts of heat we’ve been facing recently. I picked up this little number at The Loft (of course), but unfortunately, it has sold out. Fortunately enough, they have a bunch of similar styled dresses in difference colors, such as this one. When shopping at The Loft, keep in mind that they have frequent sales and I’m talking like 40% off everything! So before you start clicking away, I’d wait and look out for those great reduced prices! Ciao for now!

Work It Wednesdays: Center City Sips Edition

DSCN5471 DSCN5478 DSCN5486 DSCN5499 DSCN5523 DSCN5525

For this Work It Wednesday, I thought it would be fun to share a bit of style inspiration for Center City Sips based in Philadelphia. This outfit is one of my favorites mostly because it features the trending wide-leg pants and it is a look that is appropriate for both work and play. The concept behind Center City Sips is to break up the work week by indulging in drink and food specials each Wednesday night during the summer months. It’s the perfect time to catch up with friends and enjoy the city. In my opinion, the most popular participating bars are Chops Restaurant (in front of Comcast Center), Marathon (19th & Market), and Pagano’s. I’ve also been wanting to try Uptown Beer Garden. All of these bars offer outdoor happy hour so you are able to don your beloved sunglasses (like those I’m wearing above) and soak in some evening rays. Remember, Workingals, a bonus to working hard is so that we can play harder.

A Mustard Must

DSCN5402 DSCN5414 DSCN5443 DSCN5444 DSCN5451 DSCN5459

Happy Tuesday, Workingals! Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and celebrated the Fourth of July in style. I have been searching for the perfect mustard-colored top to pair with navy pants for about three years. A couple of weeks ago, during my lunch break, I haphazardly strolled into Zara on Walnut St. and it was as if a spotlight shined onto this mustard, pleated top. I then stumbled upon these blue, flat slingbacks (I’ve been searching for fun navy flats as well). This fun top and pair of flats couples perfectly with my cropped navy trousers from the Loft. As a petite (5’2”) person with curves, I have difficulty finding pants that fit without the need for alteration. The Loft is my absolute favorite spot as they offer petite sizes for very reasonable prices. I definitely recommend stopping by and browsing their inventory.

Saturday To Do: Running Errands

IMG_5194IMG_5197IMG_5198IMG_5195IMG_5196

Time for the weekend! Perfect for hanging out with friends and heading down to the beach, right? Right, but…first you should probably run to the store for some necessities like toothpaste (i don’t think rolling the tube any further will work). As many of us barely have the time (nor the energy) to run errands at the end of the workday, we revert to saving our to-do list for the weekend. So when it comes down to actually venturing out to the store, it can be challenging to fight off the urge to wear our sluggish sweatpants and bleached-stained tee. Take the extra ten minutes and make the effort to run those errands in casual style. Who knows? You may run into a friend or colleague. Check out my simple, casual outfit inspiration for a weekend of errands (and some fun after, of course).

Summer, Summer, Summer Time

DSCN5232 (1)DSCN5281 (1) DSCN5334 (1) DSCN5344 (1)DSCN5255 (1)DSCN5263 (1)

It’s Summer Time, Workingals! Seems like we skipped right over the Spring season all together and jumped right into Summer. This past week has been a scorcher and we all know sporting business casual/professional can be a real struggle during the summer months. However, let’s not use it as an excuse to look how we feel, a hot mess. Leave the tank tops at home and the flip flops in your work bag solely for the commute. We want to avoid running into the boss or partner while baring our less than perfect pedicures. Instead opt for closed-toe slingbacks, paired with a dress or skirt right above the knee for a more refreshing summer outfit. Also, don’t neglect the power of layering – a blazer or cardigan over-top the dress or skirt can really pull the whole look together, especially when the office pumps the AC on blast. Remember ladies, be smart and look appropriate. No matter what the weather, you must dress for success!

Welcome to the launch of Workingal! If you are anything like me and you endure hours upon hours in a cube, this holiday has arrived just in time! A long weekend to reflect on those who have served our country and to celebrate in their honor.  This Memorial Day, I will be spending time with family and friends grilling some burgers and sipping on refreshing cocktails. This look is perfect for a laid back barbecue. Enjoy!
